We are seeking talented and motivated interns with a strong background in systems programming, algorithmic design, or computer science. At Braid, we are building the software technology for the future of design through a blend of mathematics, physics, and computer science.
As a Systems Engineering Intern, you will participate in software development initiatives aimed at advancing our core technologies. You will work closely with physicists, mathematicians, machine learning researchers, and senior engineers to integrate advanced algorithmic solutions into our platform. This is a unique opportunity to deepen your expertise in building robust, high-performance systems that solve complex real-world problems.
Key Responsibilities
- Core Platform Development: Contribute to the architecture, development, and maintenance of the internal libraries that form the base of our platform.
- Algorithm Implementation: Assist in the implementation and optimization of complex algorithms related to graph manipulation, optimization, and computational geometry.
- Integration: Help integrate heterogeneous tools with our physical simulation and design generation cycle, ensuring seamless data flow.
- Software Quality: Write high-quality, well-documented code in C++, Rust, or Python and participate in code reviews to learn engineering best practices.
About You
We look for the following skills and experience for this role:
- You are an undergraduate or graduate student with a strong background in Computer Science, Mathematics, or a related field.
- You have experience writing robust and performant software in C++, Rust, or Python.
- You have a strong interest in algorithmic problem-solving, particularly in areas such as compilers, graph theory, or computational complexity.
- You have an appreciation for math, physics, or analogous scientific disciplines, and see software development as a high-leverage activity to apply this knowledge.
- You’re excited by the prospect of working with a multi-disciplinary and multi-cultural team based in Tokyo, Japan.
Benefits
- Flexible working hours, access to exclusive internal events focused on technology and business, and the vibrant city of Tokyo as your backdrop.
- Work alongside and receive mentorship from a world-class team.
- Outstanding interns may be offered full-time opportunities to continue growing with us.
We accept applications for internships on a rolling basis for starting dates year-round.
