We are seeking talented and motivated interns with a background in deep learning, geometric deep learning, or machine learning for scientific and engineering applications. At Braid, we are pioneering technology that leverages state-of-the-art AI models to solve the complex challenges of automatically generating advanced engineering designs that meet manufacturing, physical, and aesthetic requirements.
As an intern, you will work closely with a multidisciplinary team of experts, including geometry researchers, mathematicians, physicists, AI researchers, and software engineers. This is a unique opportunity to deepen your expertise, contribute to groundbreaking projects, and gain hands-on experience in AI-driven design technologies.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop high-quality software, with the support of fellow researchers and software engineers, to address real-world engineering design problems.
- Contribute to the research, development, and testing of deep learning models for generative design, physical modeling, and performance prediction.
- Assist in developing internal libraries for machine learning model training, evaluation, and deployment.
- Strengthen your software development skills while working with modern computational tools and frameworks.
About You
We look for the following skills and experience for this role:
- You are an undergraduate or graduate student with a strong background in Computer Science, Machine Learning, Physics, Applied Mathematics, or a related field.
- You have experience writing robust and performant software, particularly in Python and with deep learning frameworks like PyTorch, TensorFlow, or JAX.
- You are keen to apply your theoretical knowledge to real-world problems and challenging scientific or engineering applications.
- You’re excited by the prospect of working with a multi-disciplinary and multi-cultural team based in Tokyo, Japan.
- As a plus, you have prior experience with differentiable physics simulation or optimization techniques.
Benefits
- Flexible working hours, access to exclusive internal events focused on technology and business, and the vibrant city of Tokyo as your backdrop.
- Work alongside and receive mentorship from a world-class team.
- Outstanding interns may be offered full-time opportunities to continue growing with us.
We accept applications for internships on a rolling basis for starting dates year-round.
